It’s easy to find delicious, locally grown food from talented chefs all over LivCo, no matter what your palate or dietary restrictions. Our rolling hills provide the perfect farmland to grow wholesome, nutritious vegetables and other plant foods. Our chefs often cook seasonally, sourcing their ingredients from whatever is freshest at the farm stand that morning. Here’s where you can dig into the best vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free meal you’ve ever had!
Location: Lima
In the little town of Lima, a new coffee shop has arrived. Its black façade and rich wood door welcome visitors into a warm and comforting shop filled with classic coffee drinks and delectable baked goods. Living up to its motto “Life is sweeter here” Milk & Honey has daily baked goods (including gluten-free options!) from peach turnovers to red velvet cake to cinnamon rolls. You can also find healthy options including fancy toasts, specialty sandwiches, and seasonal salads.

Conesus Lake’s favorite shoreline restaurant has a wide menu of new American dishes, including plenty of vegetarian options. Share a plate of blistered sweet peppers, indulge in the whipped ricotta toast, or dig into the five pea salad, which is gluten-free and can also be made vegan. For gluten-free options, start your meal with the steamed red shrimp and then try the sweet and spicy Szechuan beef. Or you can order off their tinned fish menu for something unusual and delicious. Galene’s menu rotates with the season, always proving that vegetarianism and gluten-free meals are never boring.

Sure, the 3-Legged Pig is known for smoking the best meats in Lakeville, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also whip up a delicious vegan plate of BBQ! Try a quesadilla or dinner plate pilled high with Pulled Oats, a vegan meat substitute. Pulled Oats is a Finnish company that sought to create a meat alternative without preservatives, fillers, or dyes – there are just five ingredients. Drenched in a tangy BBQ sauce and paired with cornbread and mac and cheese, it’s the vegan BBQ plate of your dreams. You can also easily modify menu options like pulled pork or smoked sausage to make your order gluten-free.
Location: Caledonia
At Angry Rooster Deli, most problems can be solved with a loaf of Italian bread – it’s all about what you put between the slices. Try a Hippie Picnic, which includes spinach, feta, avocado, and tomato, drenched in a cucumber aioli. Grab a quinoa protein bowl (also gluten-free) to fuel up before an afternoon of adventures or build your own sandwich.
Location: Geneseo
Cricket’s offers all-day, everyday brunch with a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options – that you may not even guess! From smoothie bowls to peanut butter and avocado toast and even a vegan egg toast, there’s no compromising on lack of flavor or deliciousness just because you don’t have meat. You can easily find gluten-free options as well, by holding the granola on the smoothie bowls or trying one of their loaded salads.
